GreenBoard Lumber Recycling has operated in Commerce, California for over 20 years. In that time we have grown from a small salvage operation into the Los Angeles region's most complete reclaimed lumber facility — processing over 500,000 board feet annually, serving contractors, designers, and building owners across Southern California and the West Coast.

Mill Operator
Processing & Milling
Commerce, CA (On-Site)
Operate and maintain our band saw mill, planer, moulder, and table saw equipment to re-saw, plane, and profile reclaimed lumber to customer specifications. Work closely with the grading team to ensure material meets dimensional and quality standards before shipment.
Responsibilities
- ✓Set up and operate band saw re-saw, planer, moulder, and chop saw
- ✓Re-saw timbers and beams to specified dimensions
- ✓Produce tongue-and-groove, shiplap, S4S, and custom profile runs
- ✓Perform daily equipment inspections and preventive maintenance
- ✓Record production tallies and yield percentages for each run
- ✓Maintain a safe, organized mill environment in compliance with Cal/OSHA standards
Requirements
- →3+ years of lumber mill or woodworking production experience
- →Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and customer cut sheets
- →Forklift certification preferred (training available)
- →Comfortable working outdoors in an active industrial yard environment
- →Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods
Lumber Grader
Quality & Grading
Commerce, CA (On-Site)
Evaluate incoming reclaimed lumber for species identification, structural integrity, moisture content, grade classification, and defect documentation. Produce accurate grade reports that accompany every commercial order and support LEED documentation requirements.
Responsibilities
- ✓Inspect and grade reclaimed boards, timbers, and beams against established grading standards
- ✓Identify wood species using visual and tactile evaluation methods
- ✓Operate pin-type and non-contact moisture meters; record readings in our inventory system
- ✓Document defects (checks, splits, shake, stain, insect damage) using our grading software
- ✓Prepare grade summaries and material reports for commercial orders
- ✓Support LEED waste diversion documentation by recording incoming material weights and sources
Requirements
- →2+ years of lumber grading, inspection, or quality control experience
- →Familiarity with NHLA grading rules and reclaimed lumber evaluation practices
- →Proficiency with moisture meter equipment
- →Strong attention to detail and written communication skills
- →Experience with inventory software a plus
Delivery Driver (Class A CDL)
Transportation & Logistics
Commerce, CA — Regional Routes
Operate our flatbed and box truck fleet to deliver reclaimed lumber across the Los Angeles metro, Southern California, and the West Coast. Handle customer delivery coordination, on-site offloading, and accurate bill-of-lading documentation.
Responsibilities
- ✓Drive flatbed and 26-ft box trucks on scheduled delivery routes throughout LA and Southern California
- ✓Safely load, secure, and transport lumber using proper blocking and strapping techniques
- ✓Coordinate delivery windows with customers and update dispatch in real time
- ✓Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per FMCSA requirements
- ✓Operate forklift for loading and customer offloading when needed
- ✓Maintain clean, accurate bills of lading and customer signatures
Requirements
- →Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- →Clean MVR — no DUI, reckless driving, or serious violations in the past 5 years
- →Forklift certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days)
- →Knowledge of LA metro and Southern California delivery geography
- →2+ years of commercial truck driving experience
- →Ability to load and secure heavy materials safely
Sales Associate
Sales & Commercial Accounts
Commerce, CA + Field (Hybrid)
Manage inbound commercial inquiries, develop new contractor and designer accounts, and support existing wholesale customers across the LA metro. Serve as a product knowledge resource for customers specifying reclaimed material on green building, interior design, and construction projects.
Responsibilities
- ✓Respond to inbound inquiries from contractors, designers, and commercial buyers within four business hours
- ✓Conduct outbound prospecting to general contractors, interior design firms, and millwork shops
- ✓Prepare and present material quotes, volume pricing proposals, and project-specific specs
- ✓Manage commercial account onboarding, documentation, and ongoing relationship
- ✓Coordinate with the operations team on inventory availability, lead times, and custom milling requests
- ✓Attend trade shows, industry events, and in-person client meetings across Southern California
Requirements
- →3+ years of B2B sales experience; building materials, lumber, or construction preferred
- →Strong product knowledge interest — willingness to learn wood species, grades, and applications deeply
- →CRM experience (HubSpot or Salesforce preferred)
- →Excellent written and verbal communication
- →Valid driver's license and willingness to conduct field visits
Demolition Crew Lead
Demolition & Salvage
Greater Los Angeles (Field-Based)
Lead a 3–5 person deconstruction crew on residential and commercial salvage projects across Los Angeles. Maximize material recovery from structures slated for demolition while maintaining safety compliance, crew productivity, and material quality standards.
Responsibilities
- ✓Supervise and direct a deconstruction crew on active salvage sites
- ✓Plan and sequence deconstruction to maximize recovery of lumber, timber, hardware, and other materials
- ✓Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA safety regulations including fall protection, PPE, and hazardous material protocols
- ✓Communicate daily with project managers on material recovery progress and site conditions
- ✓Identify and document high-value material for priority processing upon return to facility
- ✓Complete daily production reports, safety logs, and site documentation
Requirements
- →5+ years of demolition, deconstruction, or heavy construction experience
- →2+ years of crew supervision or lead experience
- →OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required (or willing to obtain within 60 days)
- →EPA RRP certification for lead-safe practices preferred
- →Demonstrated knowledge of structural systems, framing, and material recovery techniques
- →Valid driver's license and ability to operate pickups and work trucks
Yard Coordinator
Operations & Inventory
Commerce, CA (On-Site)
Maintain organized, efficient inventory across our 4-acre Commerce yard. Receive incoming material, manage lumber stacking and storage locations, coordinate outbound order staging, and support forklift operations. The Yard Coordinator is the operational backbone of our day-to-day material flow.
Responsibilities
- ✓Receive and check-in incoming salvage deliveries and processed lumber transfers
- ✓Assign and maintain organized storage locations for all yard inventory by species, grade, and dimension
- ✓Stage and prepare outbound orders for delivery or customer pickup
- ✓Operate forklift and yard equipment safely and per Cal/OSHA requirements
- ✓Conduct weekly physical inventory counts and reconcile with inventory software
- ✓Keep yard clean, passable, and organized — assist with material bundling and tarping as needed
Requirements
- →2+ years of yard, warehouse, or lumber yard experience
- →Forklift certification required
- →Basic computer skills for inventory system entry (training provided)
- →Physical ability to work outdoors year-round and lift up to 75 lbs
- →Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
