Credentials You Can Verify

Reclaimed lumber is an unregulated industry in most respects — anyone can call themselves a salvage company or claim green building credentials without holding a single verifiable certification. We built our compliance infrastructure from the start because our customers — architects, LEED consultants, general contractors, and building owners — needed documentation they could hand to a certifying body without modification.

Every certification listed on this page is current, independently verified, and available for customer review. We maintain active memberships in the Forest Stewardship Council, U.S. Green Building Council, Building Material Reuse Association, and National Demolition Association. Our Commerce, CA facility holds TRUE Zero Waste Silver certification. Our crew is EPA RRP lead-safe certified on every qualifying project.

When you work with GreenBoard, you receive a documentation package with every order: chain-of-custody records, moisture content reports, grade summaries, and — for LEED or CALGreen projects — a completed waste diversion letter signed by our compliance officer. That documentation is typically sufficient for first-submission acceptance by certifying bodies and building departments alike.

Certification Details

Each certification carries specific requirements and scope. The following descriptions clarify what each credential covers and how it applies to customer projects.

FSC Chain of Custody

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)

Since 2011

FSC-C123456

Verifies that reclaimed material moving through our facility maintains documented chain of custody from source structure to end customer. Enables customers to count our material toward FSC credit thresholds on green building projects.

LEED Waste Diversion Documentation

U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)

Since 2012

USGBC-WD-7821

We provide project-specific LEED waste diversion letters documenting the weight and volume of reclaimed material diverted from landfill. Supports MR credits under LEED BD+C, ID+C, and O+M rating systems.

CALGreen Compliance Verification

California Building Standards Commission

Since 2014

CBSC-CG-2019-0441

Our material documentation packages satisfy CALGreen Tier 1 and Tier 2 requirements for construction waste management. We provide weight tickets, diversion percentages, and facility registration numbers required by local building departments.

TRUE Zero Waste (GBCI)

Since 2019

TRUE-ZW-0441

Our Commerce facility achieved TRUE Zero Waste Certification at the Silver level, documenting that 90%+ of all incoming material is diverted from landfill and incineration through reuse, recycling, or composting pathways.

California Contractors State License

Contractors State License Board (CSLB)

Since 2004

CSLB #987654

Active Class B General Building Contractor and Class C-61/D-49 Limited Specialty license for our demolition and salvage operations. Ensures all on-site work is performed under proper California contractor licensing.

How Our Certifications Benefit You

Every credential we hold was pursued because a customer needed it. Here is how our certification portfolio translates into direct project value.

LEED & Green Building Credits

Our FSC chain-of-custody and LEED waste diversion documentation directly support your project's pursuit of LEED, WELL, BREEAM, and Living Building Challenge credits. We provide project-specific letters with all required data points — material weight, diversion percentage, facility registration — accepted by certifying bodies without further documentation requests.

Permit & Building Department Compliance

Our CALGreen compliance verification and LA County waste diversion certification means the documentation we provide for your project is recognized and accepted by all LA County and City of Los Angeles building departments. No back-and-forth, no rejected submittals. Our paperwork is built around what inspectors and plan checkers actually need.

Risk Reduction on Your Project

Working with a licensed, bonded, and insured contractor reduces your project's liability exposure. Our CSLB license, EPA RRP certification, and full general liability coverage mean that every phase of a demolition or salvage engagement we conduct on your site is performed by a properly credentialed firm — protecting your project, your investment, and your community.

Export & International Projects

Our ISPM 15 heat treatment certification removes phytosanitary barriers for international shipping. If your project ships reclaimed lumber internationally — for hospitality fit-outs, international design firms, or export orders — our certification ensures material clears customs without fumigation holds or rejected shipments.

Material Traceability for Owners & Lenders

Our chain-of-custody documentation provides building owners, project lenders, and LEED certification bodies with traceable material provenance. Some project finance structures and historic tax credit applications require documented material sourcing — our records support those requirements in full.

We provide tiered documentation packages depending on the needs of your project. All documentation is available at no additional cost for orders over 500 board feet.
